ALMA: Monster or Victim?
05-12-2008   Author: HorrorStyle.com
ALMA: Monster or Victim?Alma is the very centre of F.E.A.R. universe. It wasn't so obviously exposed in the beginning of the story- she was appearing in visions as 8 years old girl with long black hair. It was never clear if she's real or a hallucination, though she was leaving bloody footprints or flash-appearing on CCTVs. It was so until the end of the first F.E.A.R. when Alma appeared as a naked young woman and escaped to Auburn's surface.

The back story of Alma is more than disturbing and it justifies her rage fairly. Her father was Harlan Wade, the head of secret bioengineering project (known as Project Origin) for cloned soldiers. He decided that Alma was the best genetic material for creating psychic commanders that would control Replica soldiers telepathically. So shortly after Alma's 8th birthday he placed his own daughter into a special tank and induced her into a comatose state, so she could be impregnated with genetically 'enhanced' embryos.

ALMA: a monster or a victim? However, even in comatose state Alma's powers grew, so when after ATC switched off her life support system and ceased her life, she remained extremely dangerous. Many years later she managed to synchronize with her second son Paxton Fettel and commanded to free her. That's when all hell broke loose- 1000+ Replica soldiers with Paxton Fettel as a commander against guards of Armacham Technology Corporation (founders of Project Origin) against secret government organization F.E.A.R. and Delta squads. Eventually facility was destroyed, though it seems that Point Man (main hero) was only one of two survivors.

The second survivor is Alma. And now she is free-roaming the city above and trying to transform reality into her own created nightmares. And now Replica soldiers and other creatures are being controlled directly by her. Is there any chance to stop her?

To be continued...
