F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is a horror first-person shooter that continues the
supernatural story of a powerful psychic Alma- she's an incredibly dangerous
apparition of a 8-years old child that was used for genetic military experiments.
F.E.A.R. 2 is the direct sequel to a multi-award winning F.E.A.R and
it will start approximately 30 minutes before the ending of the original game
(full title-
F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon).
The game is being developed by
Monolith Productions
that are responsible for such games as Condemned and Condemned 2,
Aliens vs. Predator 2, The Matrix Online and more
(
full list here).
It will be published on Feb 2009 by Warner Bros.
Previously on F.E.A.R.
The story begins with Flattel and his battalion of Replica (cloned) Soldiers
taking over ATC (Armacham Technology Corporation) headquarters and killing
everyone. On top of that, video footage reveals Flattel cannibalising his victim.

The Point Man- a new guy with incredibly good reaction times-
is assigned to F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon),
a secret special ops group specialized in paranormal threats.
The task is 'simple'- eliminate Paxton Fettel who telepathically controls
1000+ of cloned supersoldiers.
After Rowdy Betters' short briefing, The Point Man (the player) with his
comrades Spen Jankowski and Jin Sun-Kwon and with help of SFOD-D
(Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta) starts hunting down Fettel
in premises of the city Auburn. The mission doesn't go well- Fettel makes
and ambush and manages to escape. On top of that The Point Man starts to
witness increasingly disturbing visions and hallucinations.
However these visions altogether with information from hacked laptops
provide details to the background story. It's centered around an apparition
of the little girl Alma, her sons- one of the being Paxton Fettel-
and Project Origin.
All clues show that Flatter is being controlled by Alma, his mother,
who is locked in the Origin facility. The place is sealed and being guarded by
ATC, that are covering the failed bioengineering experiment. The Point Man
has to enter the abandoned structure and fight through both Replica soldiers
and ATC guards. When he finally manages to get to the main villain,
a vision reveals that Point Man is the first son of Alma. Nevertheless,
he has to take down his own brother Flattel.
The story doesn't end here. The sense of guiltiness makes Harlan Wade,
the ex-head of Project Origin, to free Alma. However, upon her release
Alma kills Wade at once. The liberation is followed by a wave of
hallucinations and paranormal anomalies in the real world.
Point Man receives an order to destroy the facility totally by sabotaging
its energy pylons. His escape is haunted by Alma and visions revealing that
Harlan Wade was her father and he used her for the experiment as a genetic
material. Wade placed her into a sensory deprivation tank and used her body
as an incubator for psychic soldiers.
He manages to escape but an enormous explosion knocks him down unconscious.
Luckily SFOD-D's helicopter extracts The Point Man. While they are observing
the giant mushroom smoke, Alma appears once again- Origin facility's
destruction didn't stop her.
What's next in F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin?

First of all, the main hero won't the anonymous 'point man'- you'll be playing
as
Delta Force operator Michael Becket. Your squad's primary task will be to
arrest Genevieve Aristide, the president of ATC (Armacham Technology Corporation).
However, the action
starts 30 mins before the final Big Bang in
F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon (please note, that the developers
declined
Extraction Point or
Perseus Mandate as sequels).
The bad news is that Alma was liberated and she brings her rage from the
underground facility to a surface- the city of Auburn. That's the place
where you'll face all the consequences of the cataclysmic explosion and
shortly after- Alma's all the 'paranormal creativity'. Her apparition
grew up as well as her powers and her only wish is to replace reality
with her own created nightmare.
Though further plot details aren't clear, it would be quite safe to guess
that your squad won't survive too long- all paranormal monstrosities altogether
with the upgraded ATC Army aren't leaving much chances for that.
Good news, that you'll be able to use ATC advanced
weapons too-

Good stuff's that Elite Power Armor, isn't it? Right. Now guess how helpful
it would be against such enemies:
